Deadline to File Opioid Claims in The Purdue Pharma L.P. Bankruptcy Is July 30, 2020:
The United States is facing an opioid-induced health crisis. More than 200 people in the U.S. die every day from an opioid overdose. The impact on the U.S. health care system, economies, and local and state resources is in the tens of billions of dollars. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the opioid crisis has a $78.5 billion impact each year, including lost productivity, healthcare, addiction treatment, and the criminal justice system's involvement.Purdue Pharma L.P., the maker of OxyContin, is primarily seen as having started the U.S. opioid crisis with its aggressive marketing techniques. Purdue is now facing more than 10,000 lawsuits and thousands of suits from U.S. municipalities, more than two dozen U.S. states and territories. As a result, Purdue filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on September 15, 2019. As part of the settlement, Purdue proposed restructuring the company and using future profits for those harmed by its products.
The deadline for filing a claim as part of this settlement is July 30, 2020.

The specific medications include:
- Brand Name Medications: OxyContin®, Hysingla ER®, Butrans®, Dilaudid®, Ryzolt, MS Contin®, MSIR®, Palladone®, DHC Plus®, OxyIR®, or OxyFast®
- Generic Medications: Oxycodone Extended-Release Tablets, Buprenorphine Transdermal System, Hydromorphone Immediate-Release Tablets, Hydromorphone Oral Solution, Tramadol Extended-Release Tablets, Morphine Extended-Release Tablets, Oxycodone Immediate-Release Tablets, Oxycodone and Acetaminophen Tablets (generic to Percocet®), Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen tablets (generic to Vicodin® or Norco®).
